Although the global travel & tourism industry suffered its worst year on record in 2020 due to the impact of Covid-19 and the widespread travel restrictions, the industry is projected to make a positive rebound as the vaccine rollout is expected to help restore consumer confidence.

Looking further ahead, Africa is now the second-fastest growing region for tourism, after the Asia Pacific. The continent saw increased investment in the tourism sector in the past 5 years and have recorded 67 million tourists in the 2018, a rise of 7% from the year before – making the continent more attractive destination for tourists.
